Eddie Kingston vs. Juan Francisco de Coronado

Like last month, Kingston is apathetic towards this match. He’s in jorts and a sleeveless Joker t-shirt. He beckons Coronado forward for a lock-up. Kingston shoves him to the mat. We see Volgar looming around ringside. Kingston shoves Coronado to the mat again and leaves the ring in disinterest. Coronado tries a German suplex when Kingston comes back in. Kingston easily frees himself. Coronado slaps Kingston in the face. Angry, Kingston whips Coronado to the ropes and gives him an overhand chop. Coronado dropkicks him to the corner. Kingston looks to suplex him, but Kingston let’s him go. Coronado spin kicks Kingston in the corner and gives him a German suplex. Coronado puts on the Coronado Clutch. Kingston gently taps out at 3:22 and leaves the ring immediately. This made Coronado look like garbage. Kingston barely took him seriously, overpowered him when he wasn’t trying at all, then simply walked away after being in his submission for a bit? Yikes. I get what they were trying to do with Kingston, but doing it at the expense of someone who has as much promise of Coronado was a poor idea. DUD

Silver Ant says Missile may like to yell his name, but at the end of the match, all he will be yelling is “I Quit.”

That lands Silver Ant on his shoulders and gives Missile the upset victory at 11:54. This was some excellent technical wrestling with some unexpected stuff outside the ring as well. Silver Ant is one of the best technical wrestlers in the country and Missile was able to hang with him the entire time. This one of the better technical wrestling matches CHIKARA has put on since it’s re-launch. ***¼

He and the rest of the Flood bully Cottonbelly in their corner. Hatfield takes matters into his own hands, dumping Cottonbelly to the floor so he can tag in. He clears the Flood’s corner and gives Grimsly a jackhammer. He suicide dives onto Bodhi. Nøkken pounds on Hatfield. Angelosetti press slams Grimsly onto Nøkken and Qefka. Tursas Cactus clotheslines himself and Angelosetti outside. Oak falls off the top onto the BDK, Grimsly, and Qefka. Bodhi cuts off Thunderfrog’s dive and schoolboys him, holding the tights to get the pin at 15:01. This was fun and the crowd dug it. Like all of these ten men tags, you had to take the match for what was on the surface, but thankfully what we got was pretty consistently entertaining, if not slightly long. **¾

The two teams continuing fighting. Nøkken chokeslams Cottonbelly. Tursas comes off the top with a splash. Oak tries fighting off both Tursas and Nøkken. Nøkken gives him a chokeslam as well. Cottonbelly is also laying on the stage holding his ribs. The Flood carry Tursas through the crowd and to the back (with great difficulty). Ironically, “Zombie Nation” plays over the arena’s sound system as this happens. This would be the last of Tursas in CHIKARA.

Jigsaw keeps Amasis at bay. Ophidian rolls Shard forward. Jigsaw superkicks Ophidian. Shard low blows Ophidian behind referee Dan Yost’s back and gets the pin at 10:26. This was an absolute blast of a match spoiled by a rotten finish. Could you really not have the Pieces of Hate win cleanly? With how utterly fantastic this was, the crowd deserved it. This was fast-paced, exciting, and the near falls got the crowd going. Finish aside, I totally loved this. ***½

This gets him the pin at 8:11, but Taylor had his feet on the second rope, so the finish is not without controversy. This was on par with their initial counter, allowing their strong personalities to shine through the wrestling. They make a fine pair. **¾

Taylor is once again gifted a fruit basket. Taylor complains about his feet being on the ropes as he carries the basket backstage. You can watch this match here.

Frightmare locks on the CHIKARA Special! McMassive taps out at 14:15. I don’t really understand Oleg’s interference aside from feeling the need to shoehorn him into the evening somehow. This was pretty good, with some nice wrestling and cool stuff from the Envoy. Had they ended with Frightmare’s first CHIKARA Special it would have been even more satisfying. ***
