Eddie Kingston vs. Joey Kings
Kings chops Kingston against the ropes. Kingston throws one right back. Neither guy is able to take the other down with running shoulder blocks at first. Kingston eventually does. He suplexes Kings out of a front chinlock for one. He snapmares him into another chinlock that rubs against the side of his face as well. Kingston lays in some Kobashi like chops due to a suggestion from a fan. He misses a boot in the corner. Kings strikes him in the throat and delivers a suplex. He gets two with a legdrop. He chokes Kingston on the middle rope and in the corner. Kingston fires up from a headbutt and forearm exchange. Kings pokes him in the eyes. He brings Kingston to the floor and slams his face into the apron. They trade strikes around ringside. Kings still has the upper hand as they come back into the ring. Forearms are thrown back in the ring. Kingston throws an enzuigiri which sends Kings to the floor. He follows with a suicide dive. In the ring he yakuza kicks King into a release fisherman’s suplex for two. Kings ducks the Backfist delivers a back cracker for two. Two Saito suplexes get him another two count. Kingston stops another suplex with his own uranage suplex. The Sliding D follows, but only earns a two count. Kings pump kicks him, then delivers a gut wrench gutbuster. The referee accidentally gets knocked to the corner when Kingston shoves Kings away. He hits the Backfist to the Future but the referee is still recovering. Kings delivers a low blow and a rolling forearm. He grabs the attention of the referee and gets the pin at 11:39. The crowd was REALLY into Kingston here which made the finish even more frustrating. They could have made Kings look great and become a bigger heel defeating him cleanly, or had Kingston go over and potentially become a good part-timer for the company. It was a fun back-and-forth match but the flat finish made it all for naught. **1/2
