Mike Quackenbush vs. Jerry Lynn

Lynn backs Quackenbush to the corner. After trading wristlocks, Quackenbush hooks Lynn’s leg as he applies a courting hold. Lynn armdrags him away. He headscissors Lynn to the corner. Quackenbush counters Lynn’s bulldog, taking him down in a leg lock. Quackenbush uses the ropes for a Frankensteiner. He rolls Lynn into a different leg lock. Lynn snaps off a couple armdrags. Quackenbush whips him to the corner. Lynn sends him to the apron. He springboard dropkicks Quackenbush to the floor. Quackenbush avoids a dive but gets legdropped across the second rope. Quackenbush sweeps out Lynn’s leg causing him to crash back first on the ring apron. He tries a Frankensteiner on the floor. Instead, Lynn sends him head first into the barricades. Lynn lands a swinging DDT back in the ring for two. Quackenbush evades a second attempt. He rolls Lynn into a crucifix pin for two. The Black Tornado Slam also gets him two. They collide heads in the corner. Lynn tosses Quackenbush off the top but Quackenbush rolls through. Lynn takes him down with a sunset bomb for two. He goes for the Cradle Piledriver. Quackenbush counters with the Jig N’ Tonic for two. He calls for Quackendriver III. Lynn turns it into the Cradle Piledriver for the pin at 9:36. A fun exchange designed to make Lynn look strong as he goes for the ROH World title. Quackenbush held his own and seeing him bust out the Jig N’ Tonic was pretty cool. **½
