Tim Donst {SD} & Hydra {SD} vs. Icarus {F} & Gran Akuma {F}

He puts on a modified Muta Lock until Akuma gets the ropes. Hydra and Icarus have a short pose off. Icarus slaps Hydra in the face. Hydra and Icarus engage in a test of strength. Icarus fails to stomp on Hydra’s hands. Hydra goes for a couple of quick pins to no avail. He can’t get a chokeslam. Icarus and Akuma decide to isolate Hydra in their corner. Icarus misses a moonsault, allowing Donst to tag in. He takes down F.I.S.T. with fireman’s carry’s. He back heel trips Icarus. Akuma lands on his feet out of a German suplex. Donst blocks the Yoshi Tonic with a Backslide for the pin at 8:40. There was nothing to this and some of the offense early on was sloppy. Not the best showing from either team. ½*

Leonard F. Chikarason comes out to the ring with Jigsaw. Chikarason says last month he and Jigsaw had a chat and he wants to take care of Jigsaw’s issue once and for all. With that, he calls Mike Quackenbush to the ring. Jigsaw wants to know why Mike has ignored all of his attempts to reach out to him. They used to be best friends and now he and the rest of the locker room won’t look him in the eye. Jigsaw wants to know what the deal is. Mike says he has to see it from perspective. Jigsaw isn’t just a student of his, but like a little brother. Mike’s wanted he and Jigsaw to win the Campeones de Parejas. Jigsaw says they can still do that, all Mike has to do is shake his hand and say that this will all go away. Mike says he and Jigsaw together are unstoppable, but the Jigsaw that stood next to him when they won King of Trios is not the same guy he sees tonight. Jigsaw wants to know if this is about Ring of Honor and him taking off his mask. He says he had no choice but to do that to hit a career high point. Mike walks to the merchandise table and grabs a Jigsaw replica mask. He says he hasn’t seen his friend Jigsaw in about a year. He tosses the mask to Jigsaw saying this is what he looks like, in case he’s forgotten. The fans chant for Jigsaw to put the mask on, but he tosses it to Chikarason and leaves.

Helios vs. UltraMantis Black {ONT}

Last night, Mantis pinned Helios during the Cibernetico with the Cosmic Disaster. Mantis trips him into a front facelock. Helios escapes and drops a knee across Mantis’ arm. After driving his knee into Mantis’ back he goes for a series of pinning combinations. Helios sends Mantis to the floor with a hiponesa. Helios follows him out with a Sasuke Special. Mantis catches him with a drop toe hold into the ring post. In the ring he drops an elbow on Helios’ back for two. He takes him over with a suplex for another two count. Mantis ties up his arms around his leg and bends back to stretch out Helios’ back. Helios gets the ropes. Mantis chokes him in the corner. Helios delivers a jumping knee strike but Mantis cuts him off with a clothesline. Mantis gives him a spinebuster and puts him in the Safari Stretch. Mantis drops him with a Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex for two. Helios gives him a Cobra Clutch back breaker and the Burning Screwdriver. He misses a moonsault. Mantis goes for the Cosmic Disaster. Helios escapes and hits the Burning Star Driver for the pin at 9:39. You wouldn’t expect it, but these two worked very well together. It was cool seeing Mantis bust out some stuff from his old bag of tricks and Helios utilizing a new finisher to win after teasing the way Mantis defeated Helios last night. A fun surprise. **¾

Cheech and Cloudy don’t understand anything Player Dos is saying since he’s speaking French. Dos is upset when he sees Uno is wearing his NES controller pants. He leads him to the locker room to make them change. Cloudy says they lost last time they were in CHIKARA, but the tides about to change for him and Cheech. Cheech says they will have a whole new wave of momentum starting tonight.

Player Uno {SSB}, Player Dos {SSB}, Cheech Hernandez & KC ‘Cloudy’ Day vs. Jagged {2.0}, Shane Matthews {2.0}, El Hijo del Ice Cream {IC} & Ice Cream Jr. {IC}

Dos frogsplashes onto him for the pin at 19:16. There were fun moments and good action but it ultimately went too long. Four isolation segments is a lot. Despite that, the crowd stayed with them and it was fun by and large. **¾

Vin Gerard says as much as things have changed in a year, one thing hasn’t changed: Worker Ant still doesn’t deserve a chance at the Young Lions Cup, despite him defeating Gerard twice. Gerard says things will be different when the Cup is on the line because he doesn’t joke around. He says tonight is not Worker Ant’s night.

It was an enjoyable blow off to their feud, but they just don’t have the chemistry that Gerard does with Fire Ant. **¾

Lee destroying people in a short time will never not be entertaining. That said, they gave Weiner a couple hope spots the crowd was into, which was nice. *

The Osirian Portal make their way out. Amasis’ ankle is broken. Amasis says because of this, they can’t defend the titles. Leonard F. Chikarason comes out. He feels bad Amasis’ ankle is broken, but says that when CHIKARA advertises title matches, they deliver. Since they happened to add a new Portal member last night, the belts will be defended by Ophidian and Escorpion Egipcio. The Portal is outraged but has to oblige.

Ophidian spikes him with a reverse Frankensteiner and re-applies the Death Grip. Equinox’s arm drops thrice, giving the Portal the third fall and the win at 19:36. Everyone stepped up to deliver a really good match in spite of Amasis’ injury (who took commentary and added a lot to the match). The finishes of all three falls were very well done and the tease of Equinox getting on the CHIKARA Special added quite a bit to the story since there was a lot of overlap in this crowd and last night’s crowd. It was a good first defense for the Portal and Equinox in particular looked exceptional. ***½

Eddie Kingston says CHIKARA gave him a match he didn’t ask for against Claudio Castagnoli. He says he respects Claudio a little bit, but not enough. Kingston admits he’s a little worried, which is when Brodie Lee steps in. Lee says Kingston has nothing to worry about, as Lee left Claudio laying last time they were in Wallingford. The ending sequence was especially good and makes me look forward to future matches between these two. ***½

Larry Sweeney grabs the microphone. He tells Claudio that was a great match and tips his hat to him for beating Kingston. Sweeney knows the history between him and Claudio is bad, but right now they both need partners. December 14th in Philadelphia is Sweeney’s last chance to get his hands on Mitch Ryder and Buck Hawke. He knows Claudio wants to get his hands on them too. Sweeney wants to express his question one last time via t-shirt. Sweeney then reveals a “Swiss & Sour” t-shirt he made with markers. Sweeney holds out his hand for a handshake, saying if Claudio accepts it, then the team is official. With some coercing from the crowd, Claudio decides to shake Sweeney’s hand! Sweeney then pulls out a second homemade t-shirt for Claudio. Claudio is hesitant to put it on, but does so in the end. Sweeney says the Fabulous Two are going down on December 14th, and their ain’t no doubt about it.

Chikarason says he’s done so much for them already, making sure they have a private locker room away from everywhere. Delaney says he’s used to better conditions coming from the WWE. Delaney says LFC saw what happened to Bob Saget and that he can make a phone call to make something similar happen to him. LFC’s demeanor changes. He tells Delaney not to make a call and that he will make things happen.

It goes to show that the Fabulous Two and UnStable are best in matches where a feud or story is involved. ***
