IWA Deep South Championship
Mike Quackenbush (Champion) vs. Cabana Man Dan

We start with a wristlock exchange. Dan mares Quackenbush over so that he lands on his shoulder. Quackenbush controls his arm while maring him over and delivering two suplexes. Dan gets caught trying to use his flip-flop as a weapon. He chops Quackenbush with his other flip flop while the referee disposes of the other one. Quackenbush puts on a headscissors. Dan escapes and puts on a seated abdominal stretch. Quackenbush puts him in the British Pool Ball and smacks him in the buttocks with a flip flop. He smiles as he kicks Dan free. They agree on a flip flop truce. Quackenbush works on Dan’s arms. He sweeps out his legs and drops his knees across his chest for two. He hyperextends Dan’s arm while digging his knee into his shoulder. He stops on his shoulder before whipping him to the corner. Quackenbush avoids a dropkick and goes back to the arm. Dan catches him with a sunset flip from the apron. Quackenbush rolls through and nails a basement dropkick for two. Dan throws him off the top rope. Quackenbush rolls through but eats a calf kick. Dan gets two with a Northern Lights suplex. Quackenbush palm strikes him and brings him off the second rope with an Iconoclasm. He nails a Swanton Bomb for two. After some reversals, Dan drops Quackenbush with an STO. Quackenbush shoves him to the corner to avoid a Shiranui. He hits the Black Tornado Slam for the pin at 10:36. The match progressed really well, turning from a light-hearted affair into a more aggressive counter wrestling exchange. It’s rare nowadays to see the BTS get a win, and I really liked how Quackenbush maneuvered into it. Good times. **3/4
