I never thought I would see the day this category would be created. And yet, here we are.
Rubix vs. Sonjay Dutt
Rubix, of course, is Jigsaw. The winner of this match qualifies for a tournament that will crown the new X-Division Champion. Rubix shoots Dutt out of a headlock. Dutt shoulder blocks him. A Lucha sequence leads to Rubix snapping of a few armdrags and a basement dropkick. Dutt back elbows Rubix as he hits the ropes. He sends Rubix to the floor with a huracanrana. Rubix comes back in quickly to block his dive. He sends Dutt out with a knee strike and suicide dives after him. Back in the ring, Dutt blocks Rubix’s crossbody with a dropkick. Dutt kicks Rubix in the face and legdrops him across the second rope. Dutt gets two with a springboard splash. Rubix blocks a standing shiranui. He strings a back elbow, enzuigiri, and bridging German suplex together for two. Dutt gives Rubix a tilt-a-whirl DDT. A moonsault double stomp gets Dutt the pin at 3:14. That is one of the best three minute matches you will ever see. If I can be punny, this was total nonstop action from bell-to-bell. Both guys looked spectacular. I wish they could have both been in the tournament. **3/4

I see the name change as potentially a good thing though. “Rubix” may not have won the match, but the new name could very well mean TNA is willing to continue using him.
It’s about damn time a Chikara original gets called up to the Big Two.
